Twins marry each other
Every once in a while I hear of something so sad that I share it. Recently, I went to Parent Dish and found a post on a set of twins that were separated at birth and adopted to different parents. They never knew that they were twins nor did they know each other until later in life. They evidently met and felt a strong attraction to each other. They fell in love and got married.
I have an issue with this and am torn.
- They felt an attraction for each other. Was it a twin thing or just that they have a lot in common.
- They fell in love. I wonder if they would have gotten along as kids if they grew up together.
- They were made to annul the marriage.
I feel so sorry for them. Not only were they adopted and separated at birth, but they found a mate to love and then were forced to divorce when they found out they were twins. The irony of this story is so multifaceted that I still can’t wrap my poor, tired brain around it.
What do you think?

My initial thought was, “ew,” but after reading the story, I feel badly for them.

I feel bad for them too, but it’s not exactly right, some might say, wrong, (medically, religiously, whichever way you want) to be married to your blood sibling.

Oh how terrible! I mean, seriously what are the odds of them meeting and then falling in love and getting married. So so sad!

This story is like an episode of Private Practice that aired earlier in the season. I agree with Melody. What are the odds?

It is said to hear of heartbreak, but just because something “feels good” does not necessarily make it good.

It’s not true. It’s an urban myth:

But like so many of these things it continues to circulate because it disturbs us profoundly in ways we can’t quite understand.
