Top 10 junky hotspots to organize
I have been working on my house for a week now. I have to admit I am not the best in the world with maintaining a clean home, but with 2 little ones, I have to get better. So this week I worked on my hotspots. You know … the areas that manage to collect everything from junk to mail to shoes. So I thought I would share the most common hotspots and encourage you to tackle at least one a week.
- The foyer as you walk in
- The kitchen table
- The desk
- Your nightstand
- That corner of the kid’s room that never gets played with
- The kitchen counter
- The stair ( I love to put things on the top of the stair that need to go to the basement but never get there)
- The table where you have pictures
- The bathroom counter
- Your car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The hall closet (OK, I have more than 10)
So go and pick one area today to take care of and clean it! Hopefully it won’t take you too long. Set your timer for 15 minutes and then stop. You will be surprised at how much you will get done.
So what is your hotspot?

I’m big on setting the timer and cleaning an area I’ve been procrastinating on. It is so motivating for me! I don’t know why this works, but it does.

I agree with your hotspots, most are mine too. However, my car is a collecting ground for my husband’s junk! We have a van, I keep a stroller in the back for when I need it and a car seat in the seat. I babysit my granddaughter and have her every day, so these things are needed. However, there is also a chair, a box with a computer in it- complete with monitor, a few hard drives, some books and who knows what else. Did I mention I am a grandmother? N0 kids to blame. well, no small kids, just the big one I call hubby who thinks the van is a storage shed.

Peggie, I can totally relate. Except, my dh has the dinning room converted to a computer mausoleum of sorts. Stay tuned for car ideas!
