Thursday Cleaning Challenge - Ever look up?

by kellys on June 12th, 2008

OK, so here we are again on another Thursday. Now what? Look up and smell the yuck. When was the last time you cleaned the light fixtures? Me too. It’s been at least a month since I tackled a light fixture. So get up there and clean a light fixture or 2. My suggestion is to clean 2 bathroom light fixtures. It shouldn’t take but a few minutes. So go ahead and clean that light fixture up there. It doesn’t have to be a bathroom, just my suggestion. Let us know where you go.

Thanks for the reminder. I’m 5 foot tall and tend to not look up and forget those areas to clean, then I’m horrified when I finally do see the dust!

hi!!! my diningroom lights have been bothering me for awhile so i decided to clean them. it didn’t take long and while i was up there i looked over and saw the mound of “things” sitting on top of my china cabinet. i cleaned that off and figured i should wipe it down; wax; and windex it while i was at it. by then i was on a roll and decided i might as well take the plunge…i washed down all the walls; washed the curtains and scrubbed the floor. you know what??? i feel great!!! i now have a sparkling clean diningroom and it really didn’t take all that long. thanks kelly!!!! your post was just the motivation i needed to get going. my little girl is trying to encourage me to start the kitchen walls…..kids….where do they get there energy??? if it happens, i’ll let you know.

Congratulations. I am so proud of you! How do you find the time to do all that and raise 14 kids! I bow at your inspiration

how do i do it? the tom sawyer affect. i make what i’m doing look sooooo appealing that they beg to help. at first i tell them “no, this is sort of like grown up work and besides i give so much to you kids that i have to have SOMETHING that’s just for me” they watch as i admire my work out loud and eventually i act like i’m giving in and tell them they can only do “part” of it….like maybe scrub the baseboards. works like a charm.
