Thank your Mother and don’t forget your grandmother on Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is 4 days away. I am currently appreciating my grandmother more and more these days due to my babysitting dilemma. I was talking to my mom the other day and asked her what she did when she needed someone to keep us for a short time. She said that she always had my grandmother who lived 30 minutes away. I asked her if she knew how lucky she was to have family near. She said she was very thankful. The closest family we have is over an hour away. Don’t get me wrong. If I needed my in-laws, they would be here in a blink. But it just isn’t the same as 30 minutes away and not working full time. I love my grandmother; she has always been there for me and loves me unconditionally. She has had some health problems lately and I hope she gets better soon. It is hard living so far away. So hug your parents and grandparents if you live close and thank the Lord above that you have back up babysitting. It takes a lot of stress off your plate.

Yes, being a continent away from my family and four European countries away from my husband’s we really miss having someone to help us. It isn’t so much the babysitting dilemma (we have a wonderful babysitter at the moment), but the fear of what would happen in an emergency. If something terrible were to happen to one of us, or God forbid both of us, we would have no one who could be there for the kids.
