Swiffer replacement wipes
I love the Mommy Saver forums. Recently, I found a great post on ideas to replace swiffer wet pads for cheap. I also thought of a few other ways so here is the compiled list for replacing your swiffer wet pads for cheaper than $10.
- Layer really good paper towels
- Buy cheap washcloths from Wal-Mart or your local drug store. The cheaper the better since the scratchy surface of the washcloth will grab the dirt better. Then just throw them in the washer.
- Rubber Band a Magic Eraser to your swiffer and reuse it.
- Old socks
- Cut a few micro fiber towels to fit your swiffer and just wash them when you are done.
- Disposable diapers
- Make your own covers. Here are two examples.
- Go to your local Dollar Tree for replacements.
Hope this helps. I love my swiffer but hate paying to replace the clothes. Good luck and go save some money.

I leave my Swiffer Wet Jet pads on and get several uses out of them. I just hang my swiffer up and let the pad dry. To be honest, the pads look just like an Always maxi pad. They had the same type of material on them. I’ve had my swiffer wet jet for quite a while and have only had to buy refills once.
For the dry ones, some of those suggestions sound good. I sometimes see the refills on clearance at Target.

I try really hard not to shop at Target except for their Aveeno but I will look the next time I am there.

I use cheap washcloths from Costco. They’re come in packs of 24 and cost around $10. Just bleach and they’re good to go again. One pack lasts me a year. I also use them dry :)
