Sitting on my couch thinking …
Odd title but I am sitting here musing about a lot of things right now and thought you might like to see someone else’s ramblings so that you would feel better about the fact hat we all ramble every now and then.
I am thankful for so much tonight. We just returned from our last Christmas celebration at my in-laws home and I was just thinking on the drive back home how great our past year has been. I thought I would share with you some of my thoughts. Feel free to leave whenever you get bored as I just wanted a chance to write some of this down and I love blogging so I thought I would combine the 2.
- I am thankful for spell check (this one is for you, Karen) as you should have seen this post before I ran it to correct my atrocious typing.
- I am SO thankful for all of you as you guys have supported Karen and I this year in abundance. Keep coming back. We are having a ball with all of you and are looking forward to a whole new year of money and time saving ideas.
- I am so thankful for how God has used me over the past year and how He has blessed me and my family.
- This past year brought us Little Man and I love being his mother.
- This past year has seen Turkey Butt grow and stay relatively healthy.
- I have a cold tonight that is kicking my butt (in a manner of speaking) and my nose but I have been healthy this year.
- My pregnancy went well and Little Man, after a major hospitalization, is doing very well.
- My house is a DISASTER form all the traveling but I came in from the cold and I have a lot of junk to call our own.
- My husband has been loving and faithful. Some of my friends can’t say that and I am so grateful that I can I could just cry … Hold on, I have to catch my nose it is running so fast … ok I am back …
- I have had my purse stolen right out of my car but so far, there has been no funny business to report.
- I rode 1.5 hours in the car and only had about 5 minutes of crying. I can officially tell you that the trip was the quietest trip in a Saunders vehicle since Turkey Butt was born 2.5 years ago.
- I have a lot of crap to clean up tomorrow. I am so glad you guys can’t see my house <wink>
- I can’t believe I can say this but I HAVE A NEW MINI-VAN! I have wanted one since Turkey Butt was born and I finally have one. It is a blessing that I don’t deserve but am so selfishly glad to have. The trip to the in-laws was very nice.
- I am keenly aware of how fortunate we are to have both of us working. 3 members of our family have been downsized or decided to quit their jobs to start fresh. I can’t imagine trying to go 2 months without an income. Talk about some thrifty living needing to happen!
- I started Thrifty mommy 2 years ago. It has been a wild ride and you guys are why Karen and I keep going.
- We have a new baby in our circle of friends to enjoy. Way to go Levi! Another one to celebrate his first birthday already! Seth, I will get you a pack of diapers but don’t open them until your birthday. It’s what all babies get from me on their first birthday. Sorry, dude.
- We have another presidential election in 2008 and I love politics! Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Pappaw always said, “You can’t complain if you don’t vote”. So make sure you vote before you belly ache about the results. And if you don’t vote, I don’t want to hear from you. You had your chance.
I guess I should let you guys go and let you enjoy your new year. Just remember that 2008 can only be better if you choose to let it. So try to find one thing that is good about your 2007 and focus on it in 2008. If you can’t find something, let me know and I can find something for you. It’s a gift and I am good at it.
