Saving money success and failure
I love Mommy Savers. They have so many great ideas. Recently, Kelly shared her struggles with saving and spending money. I thought I would share my weaknesses as well.
- I need to stop dropping by fast food to grab a quick bite before picking up my kids.
- I need to stop taking my kids to the sitter when I am home. I might get a lot done when they are gone but my babysitting just doubled so I need to learn to get my work done with my kids
cryingstriving for my attention beside me. - Be more productive when I do run errands.
- Stay off my cell phone during the day.
- Go to Wal-Mart only once a week.
- Cook more at home
At least I am willing to admit when I fail or struggle.

I have had some of the very same thoughts lately and have had some success spending less. I usually save time in the process. I have started to shop at ALDI, a dicount grocery store. It saves me a bunch of money! It is very inconveinient to shop at, especially with kids, so I naturally go less often, and that forces me to get out of cooking the same old same old. I actually use what is in the cabinets and fridge BEFORE refilling them. So my kichen is cleaner and less cluttered, I cook a better variety of meals, and spend less time at the store. If we do run out of milk or dog food, I just send the hubby out. He is less likely to impulse buy at the grocery store than I am and if he does, it is only for a mountain dew!!
