My favorite 4th of July

I have a confession to make.  My favorite 4th of July is Karen’s fault.  You see, I love babies.  And when Karen told me she was going to have Alligator, I was so excited.  I love babies!  So when Alligator was born on the 4th of July, I was totally stoked!  But when I found out where her hospital room was …

I was even more excited.  See… her room had a perfect view of the city’s fireworks display.  So not only could we see the fireworks that year, we got a great seat!  Well, that was until the smoke started obscuring the view.  I love to watch fireworks but I hate going since the smoke usually gets too thick.  There is nothing better than a great view of fireworks for free.

So this year, we are going to hopefully see the fireworks from down the mountain at our local park.  Last year they started a new tradition in town and our church helps with parking.  There will be games and inflatables and food and at 9:40, FIREWORKS.   Now that is a thrifty and free 4th of July activity.

But I will forever remember a beautiful little firecracker arriving into the world who not only gave my best friend a smile but gave me a great view of my favorite fireworks.  Thanks, Alligator and Happy Birthday.
