Mommy’s busy day

by kellys on October 4th, 2007

I have to tell you about my day yesterday. Karen sometimes busts me for not blogging as much as I should. She’s right. She has 2 kids as well and has just as many issues to weed through before the day is done as I do so I have not a leg to stand on. But here is my day yesterday. After you browse to see what you find in common, don’t forget to watch this video that will encompass any parent’s day. I love it!

  • My daughter wanted waffles for breakfast and then refused to eat them when I fixed them from scratch. Thus she didn’t eat breakfast.
  • She cried all the way to meet daddy for lunch.
  • My son cried all the way home.
  • She fell asleep on the way home. Upon arrival, I put her in her bed. She screamed bloody murder. I was in hopes that she would go back to sleep. 15 minutes is not a nap.
  • I am nursing my son when I realize my daughter is now in the living room. That means she crawled out of her crib for the first time. Now my world really has turned upside down.
  • I put her back in her crib to video the little Houdini act. Hopefully I will get that uploaded soon.
  • I took her crib apart and turned it into a day bed.
  • Don’t forget that my son likes to nurse every 2 hours.
  • I had MM come over to watch the kids so I could run to Wal-Mart. I had no diapers, milk, bread, etc… in the house and was desperate.
  • I finally got spaghetti on the stove and the boy decided to eat again.
  • I put together the bed rail and realized it was the wrong one.
  • I tried to undo the bed rail to take it back and exchange it but couldn’t get it back in the box.
  • Had dinner and fixed the husband’s dinner for him so it was ready when he got home. We had a 7pm meeting to go to that we didn’t make.
  • He got home at 6:30. I left to go to Wal-Mart for exchange and re-buy at 6:40. Let’s not discuss the horror of the trip to Wal-Mart and back….
  • I was home by 7:15 to find my daughter had poured her lotion on the carpet and my son wanted to eat again! My husband was stressed to no end.
  • He left to help our live-in teenager fix his tire.
  • I had to put together the new bed rail while my kids were getting ready to melt down for bed. Remember Turkey Butt didn’t get a nap and it is now 8pm.
  • Little Man decided not to go down easily and Turkey Butt decided that everything was a drama after 7:45.
  • Finally got the kids to bed around 8:45 only to find the kitchen a mess from spaghetti!
  • I only watch one show on TV, Top Chef. The season finally was on last night so I watched it and parked my butt.
  • Don’t forget I have a cold and a sinus infection.
  • I went to bed at 11:30, Little Man woke up at 1:30 am, Turkey butt woke up at 3am and again at 6 am ready to watch cartoons, and Little Man woke up at 7 am ready to eat a feast.
  • Turkey Butt wanted a peanut butter and honey sandwich for breakfast.
  • I had to get a shower and ready to load up the kids by 8:15 so I could make it to the doctor on time.

Are you tired yet? I can’t wait to go to work tomorrow to rest because let me tell you about my day today.
I am home now and have allotted until 12:30 to blog.
Then I need to be done with cleaning the kitchen, dusting and vacuuming my house, 4 loads of laundry to wash, dry, and put away, and sorting through the kids winter clothes by 3:30.
Hopefully after that, I can work on my desk until 4:30. Trust me, it will take more than an hour to get that done. I have been working on it for 2 days now… Almost done.
I hope to get all that done so that I can lay down until 5pm so that I can get my kids from the sitter then.
Whew! I’m tired just recapping it.
Have a great day!

thank you…i thought i was the only one that had days with 24 hours when i really need 32!!! although i have 14 kids, i only have 9 left at home. one would think it would get easier…so far, i’m not seeing it. remember…keep a sense of humor…it’s the only thing that will help you keep your sanity. i’ve been reading your blog for quite awhile…love it!!! keep up the great work.

Don’t make me come up there. Oh wait, I already am. lol I’m so glad we’re coming after the leaves start changing. It’s my favorite time to take a drive.

Thanks for the video. That was hilarious!

Good grief, Kelly. I just read about your day. Maybe I should come live in your downstairs and be your nanny! lol

What a day! I hope you’ll have better days than this. But, I’m not surprised because I had similar days ;) Having kids made me realize how powerful love is. It is the only thing that gives me the energy to do everything I’m doing now. Thanks for sharing the video, it’s funny but true…all moms deserve a standing ovation =)
