It’s Time to Stock the Freezer
I don’t know about you, but my freezer has been getting empty lately. There hasn’t been a good meal sale in quite a while. We finally have a reason to stock the freezer again. Here are some deals going on:
Food Lion has:
- Boneless Chicken Breast Fillets and Tender for $1.79/lb. These are 100% natural and raised without hormones or antibiotics.
- Boneless Ribeye Steaks for $5.99/lb.
- Boneless Half Pork Loins for 50% off.
- Food Lion Raw, Large Shrimp are buy 1 get 1 free.
- Food Lion Split Chicken Breasts or Breast Tenders (2.5-3 lb) bag are buy 1 get 1 free.
- Catfish Nuggets are .99/lb.
- Freschetta Pizzas are $3.99 each.
Lowe’s Foods has
- All Natural Assorted Pork Chops for $1.79/lb.
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts or Tenders (2.5 lb bag) are buy 1 get 1 free. One thing I really like about Lowe’s Foods is that when something is buy 1 get 1 free, you can get the item for half price.
- Salmon, Mahi Mahi, Alaskan Cod, Yellowfin Ahi Tuna, and Swordfish are all $5.99-6.99/lb.
- Lowe’s Foods Waffles are buy 1 get 1 free.
Remember, that prices may vary according to which are you live in. Be sure to check the websites for prices and selection.
Have you found any great meat sales in your area?

An especially good idea for those of us in the snow belt. I’m currently snowed in, trying to decide between pizza delivery and Chinese food delivery–neither a particularly thrify option. ;-)

Yep- Karen I have found a lot of meat sales in my area. Actually I have been so bogged down in accounting & taxes lately I have been living off of McDonalds double cheeseburgers. I have had 4 in 2 days, does that count as a meat sale? You get two patties in those things for $1.
Actually if I could get a chest freezer (I don’t do credit anymore) I would probably have it stocked with something quick to eat and I wouldn’t be eating McYuck everyday. Happy New Years to you two- keep up the Great Work.

Hi Michelle. Good to see you around again.
Those McD’s double cheeseburgers are cheap, but not too good for you. I know how it is when you’re busy though.
I’ve been trying to get back in the swing of freezing leftovers and extra stuff again for those busy times.
Tonight I’m making chili. There should be plenty of leftovers to use throughout the week.

OHHHH- chili- good idea I shall make some this weekend. At the church functions I go to they make the worse chili in the world. I’ll stop at that- because I don’t want to knock other Christians, but it is the sorriest tasting stuff on the planet.

We actually use our chili to make Frito Pie. In your bowl you put corn chips, then chili, onions (optional), cheese, sour cream, and tomatoes. Ummm hmmmm, yummy!
