Homemade play dough

by kellys on December 6th, 2007

I am sure you enjoy  play time with your kids.  I know I do, I just don’t take the time to do it enough.  But when I do, I like to put cling wrap on the table or paper towels taped together on the floor to let Turkey Butt play with her play dough.  Here is a recipe for homemade play dough.

1 c flour

1 c water

1 tbs oil

1 tsp cream of Tarter

Food coloring

Cook over medium heat until mixture pulls away from sides of pan and becomes like play dough in consistency.  Knead until cool.  Keeps up to 3 month sin the refrigerator.

Have fun!

I love this recipe! It comes out with a great texture. The only thing I do differently is use on packet of unsweetened Kool-Aid instead of food coloring.

    Why the Kool-Aid?

    The Kool-Aid makes it scented.

We don’t keep ours in the refrigerator. We keep it in an air-tight container. It will last for a long time if you store it that way.
