Have You Started Your Christmas Shopping?
Do you realize that there are only a few months until Christmas? Have you started your Christmas shopping?
My mom taught me almost everything I know about being frugal. We shopped
the clearance racks together, I watched her use coupons and compare price per unit, and I saw her shop all year for Christmas presents.
I used to shop all year, but not as much as I used to. I have started this year’s shopping though.
For my daughter I bought Gigi, God’s Little Princess DVD on sale at Lifeway for $5, Strawberry Shortcake Seaberry Beach Party DVD on sale for $7.50 (with coupons) at Family Christian Stores, and a Princess Barbie that I got on sale. I probably have a few other things downstairs too that I have forgotten about.
I have also picked up a few other things for my nephews and my DH’s parents.
It is nice to shop in advance and get things that you think hope people will like and then not to be so stressed in December.

Hi. New to your blog. Yes, I’ve started my Christmas shopping. So far everything is for my granddaughter. Two sets of children’s books, for $5, like new from a garage sale. A Play-Doh playset free from Kohl’s with a $10 off any purchase card. Some pink ballerina slippers for $3 from a Target clearance rack. Maybe I couple other things I can’t think of.
I love getting my holiday shopping done ahead of time. Then if I decide to go out to the mall in December, I can enjoy the holiday atmosphere instead of spending too much money and time trying to find gifts.

Funny, I just ordered some more Christmas gifts this morning ($49.99 cashmere blend driving coat for hard-to-shop-for M.I.L… orig $159.99). I also have been stocking up on clearance toys for my daughter since about May, such as the 30 piece doll and accessory set). We got a huge tub of Play Dough accessories at Costco last week that we’ll be stashing until Christmas.

Yup! I shop year round, but start looking harder this time of year.
I have a gift bin in my closet where I stash toys I’ve found on sale for birthday parties throughout the year.
