Thrifty Mommy

Chick-fil-a must live in a golden coup because she isn’t thrifty.

by kellys on September 7th, 2006

I like sharing my success stories but also want you to hear my un-successes as well. That way you can take a ride in my boat when you want to and feel good about it. My DH wanted Chick-fil-a for lunch today. We usually go there because we have a buy one get one free coupon. That way we can afford it. Well, he had evidently gotten their chicken salad before nad loved it. So he asked me to pick up a quart of it when I was there so he could eat it for lunch on a sandwich. I thought that would be a good idea so he would not have to waste travel tie and money for lunch and maybe save enough time for a quick nap. I placed my order and pulled up to the window honestly thinking that they had made a mistake. Turns out they didn’t and my husband was going to be eating royalty for lunch. Why do I say that? Isn’t he worth it, you ask. Absolutely! What am I talking about, the rest of you ask? The quart of chicken salad cost me. Are you ready for this? $11.50. That chicken had better been the queen of Chickenia, or something similar, and lived in a golden coup! It wasn’t one of my thriftier days but I did get a smile out of the handsome devil. That made my day.

PS… I will continue to support the chain regardless of the occassional highway robbery becasue they are closed on Sundays. I like that.

$11.50!!!???!!!! They are crazy!!! You’ll have to take DH to the grocery store and let him sample their chicken salads. See if you can help him find a close 2nd favorite!
