Ever wonder what to do with all those little crayon pieces? Why not make more crayons? I ran across a great recipe for recycling old crayons. They turn out really pretty. They would be great for
New crayons,
Free party favors
Great gifts

As I’m working on the computer now, I’m watching HGTV’s “Decorating Cents”. Today they have a pretty cool thrifty craft project on their show.
On Decorating Cents, they were remodeling a multi-purpose family room. They needed an area for guests to sleep, so they turned a double bed sideways, put a bedspread on it, and covered […]

Every year I have the difficult task of picking a craft for my kids at school to do for their moms. And you know how school budgets are, so it has to be a thrifty craft. More importantly, it has to be something that the kids made themselves and that the moms […]

I found a great article on About.com telling all about free or really cheap kid’s events that you can take advantage of this summer. What great ideas. I knew about all but the Toy’s R Us In-Store events. Guess I haven’t paid attention. I also added some of my favorites as well.

I just spotted this rag rug tutorial at This Vintage Chica. I love this kind of stuff. I wish I knew how to crochet. That can be on my to-do list for when I retire. I’ll put it under learning how to play the guitar. ;)

Thankfully, my friend Revka at “Little […]

I remember being in 4th grade. We had to give “how to” speeches in front of the class. One girl gave a speech on how to dye eggs using natural things from your kitchen. My mom and I tried it right away.
Some suggested items for dyeing eggs are onion skins, red cabbage, coffee, beets, and tumeric. […]

This week at preschool we learned about the weather. To go along with the weather theme, I had my darling students make these adorable handprint crafts. (Get it . . . March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb?)
Parents love handprint crafts. They are great keepsakes. I love a thrifty craft.
For the […]
