Beware of Scammers
I’m sure that most of you have heard about the rebate checks that should be coming from the government this year. Wherever there’s money, there are scammers. Beware of emails and phone calls from people claiming they work for the IRS.
These scammers are trying to scare you into thinking they’re from the IRS. What they really want is for you to give them your personal banking information. They’ll even stoop to telling you that you can’t get your rebate until they confirm your checking account number.
The IRS will not call your house to verify your account number nor will they send you an email asking for personal information.
Scammers want your account information because it is difficult for your bank to monitor electronic draft. You should contact your bank immediately if you feel that you have given your information to a scammer.

I know not to do that, but so many people don’t! My parents freak out when they get emails from paypal scammers and ebay scammers. We keep telling them to just delete that stuff, but they freak out. They are too paranoid to ever give out their info, but they think someone got it and made an account with their info, lol.
