A Thrifty Way to Help Women’s Shelters
Women’s shelters go through thousands of feminine hygiene products each month. Agencies will generally donate obvious necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, but many times feminine hygiene products get overlooked.
Seventh Generation, a green paper products and cleaning company, will donate a box of sanitary products to a women’s shelter in your chosen state. All you have to do is click the link, choose the state of your choice, then click and drag the heart to the house.
All this only takes about 30 seconds. Can you give up 30 seconds today as a way to donate a box of feminine products? What a thrifty way to give!
Once again, click here to donate. BTW, Seventh Generation offers non-toxic and environmentally safe household products. There are coupons on their site. Click the leaf picture or the link in this article to get to their site.

Thanks for the info! I’ll post it on my site, too. It’s an obvious need, but one you might never think of, kwim?

I guess it’s a need that easily gets overlooked. I love that this is such an easy way to donate.

Uh Oh, saw this when I went to “donate.”
“Unfortunately, we have received so many clicks in the past few weeks that we are temporarily suspending the click-to-donate action until we can get all of the product out to the shelters that need it. ”
When they’re ready to start the donations again, they’ll say so in their newsletter (which you can sign up for there.) Hopefully they’ll get the program up again soon.

Well, maybe the posts at our websites helped them to get too many clicks. That would be great! I hoped they have it up and running again soon. I think I’ve clicked 3-4 times, so that can help out several women.

What a wonderful giving program. I hope that many people in Nth America use the click system when it’s back up.
Soaps, shampoos and bath gels collected from motel stays can also be donated to shelters and rape crisis centres. The women really appreciate it.
This is a great blog thriftymommy.
