5 frugal tips for throwing a baby shower.
I have a friend of mine at work that is pregnant. I am so excited for her as it is her first baby. Everybody knows what that means … A Baby Shower! I am so excited about that. I love going to any baby shower. The fun of going to the store and getting the new mother’s baby registry is one of my favorite things to do. All those cute little baby toys and sweet smelling soaps inspire me to want another baby.
I get to help a friend with decorations for the shower. My friend went to the dollar store to get some of the decorations. I thought they would be a little cheesy at first. But when I got a chance to look at them, I realized that they are adorable and cheap! This baby shower will be filled with all kinds of baseballs and stars and sports paraphernalia to make the mother-to-be happy and won’t break the bank. Now that is a frugal way to throw a baby shower.
Here are some more frugal tips to use when throwing a baby shower:
- Only use a couple of the specialty ballons for decorations. The rest should be plain balloons.
- Don’t buy your cake at the store. Most of us know someone who is good at decorating cakes. If you don’t, give it a try yourself. My sister does cakes and she loves it.
- You don’t have to get the expensive food to have a great shower. Nuts tend to be very expensive so make them go farther by combining them with Chex cereal.
- As I said earlier, buy your shower decorations at the dollar store or some place similar.
- Don’t throw it by yourself. Get someone else to help. That way you don’t have to be the entire bank.
