Spending time with frugal friends can really pay off!

I came across this picture that a friend of mine sent me. It cracked me up! But what it reminded me of was being nice to your neighbors or they might not be nice to you. This can be a very frugal thing. My grandparents ran a cattle ranch in south Texas. They had some friends that had a HUGE garden. Most Sundays, my grandparents would provide the meat and their friends would bring the veggies and they would have Sunday dinner together. It wouldn’t cost either of them anything yet they ate like kings and queens. Our friends and we used to rotate dinner at each others houses once a week. Although it was too often, once a month would be perfect, the idea was great. We could hang out with friends and only have to cook once every 3 times. We also saved money because it was cheaper to cook for 5 once a month than to cook for 2 every week. It was a lot of fun and a great idea for getting to know friends and neighbors.
